Buying Process

Purchasing rural or coastal properties in Kumano is a simple, transparent process. Horizon Coast guides you through each step with clarity and steady support.

1. Explore Property Listings

Begin by browsing available land, homes, and Akiya properties using our detailed listing pages. Each listing includes:

  • accurate photos and descriptions
  • map access and road conditions
  • property size and zoning info
  • local highlights and community notes

2. Request More Information

If a property interests you, submit a quick inquiry. We will provide:

  • detailed condition reports
  • land history & documents available
  • recommended local services
  • estimated renovation or kaitai options

3. Schedule a Viewing or Remote Walkthrough

You may visit the property in person or request a remote video walkthrough through Horizon Coast staff or trusted local contractors.

4. Submit a Purchase Intent

Once you are ready, submit a simple “Purchase Intent” form. This allows us to:

  • reserve the property during review
  • prepare the seller disclosure file
  • confirm available documentation
  • begin the municipal compliance check

5. Document Review & Price Confirmation

We will send you:

  • title registry details
  • boundary info (if available)
  • land classification (residential, forestry, etc.)
  • known restrictions or easements
  • final property price

6. Contract Preparation

A licensed real estate agent prepares the official contract. Horizon Coast assists by:

  • coordinating between buyer and seller
  • translating key points (if needed)
  • ensuring legal compliance
  • explaining fees and timelines

7. Contract Signing & Deposit

Contracts may be signed:

  • in person
  • or digitally (if permitted by the agent)

A small deposit confirms the purchase and locks the agreement.

8. Final Payment & Registration

After settlement, ownership is officially registered with the local Legal Affairs Bureau. We assist with paperwork and guide you through the process.

9. Post-Purchase Options

  • kaitai (demolition) services
  • land clearing & safety preparation
  • renovation planning
  • tiny home placement & foundation prep
  • rental or stay management (if applicable)

Horizon Coast remains your long-term support team — from the first inquiry to the day you stand on your new land.
