Stay Agreement

A simple agreement framework to support respectful use, shared understanding, and continuity of care at Keian.

📜 Purpose of Agreement

This agreement outlines the basic understanding between users of Keian regarding access, use, responsibility, and care of the property. It is not intended to be restrictive, but to ensure clarity, consistency, and protection of the house, land, and relationships connected to the site.

All use of Keian is based on mutual trust, respect, and alignment with the principles outlined across this platform.

1. Nature of Use

  • Keian is a private, family-linked property within the Sawatari setting.
  • Use is limited to approved individuals and agreed periods.
  • The property is not a commercial accommodation.
  • Use is intended to remain light, quiet, and low-impact.

2. Stay Conditions

  • Typical stays are short (1–2 nights unless otherwise agreed).
  • All stays must be scheduled and shared in advance.
  • No large gatherings, parties, or events are permitted.
  • Use must align with the Use Guidelines and Stewardship principles.

3. Responsibility During Stay

  • Users are responsible for safe and careful use of all facilities.
  • Users must maintain basic cleanliness and order during their stay.
  • Any damage, issue, or concern must be reported promptly.
  • Users must respect neighbors, environment, and local conditions.

4. Condition on Departure

  • The property must be left clean, orderly, and secure.
  • All personal items and waste must be removed.
  • Utilities, lights, and equipment must be turned off.
  • The house should be left ready for the next user.

5. Utilities & Costs

  • Electricity, water, and related usage are shared responsibilities.
  • A daily occupancy contribution may be applied if required.
  • Users should minimize unnecessary usage.
  • Any abnormal usage or issue should be reported.

6. Damage & Liability

  • Users are responsible for any damage caused during their stay.
  • All damage must be reported immediately.
  • Repair or replacement arrangements will be discussed as needed.
  • Users accept responsibility for their own safety during stay.

7. Access & Control

  • Access is limited to approved users only.
  • Keys and entry methods must be handled securely.
  • No unauthorized sharing of access is permitted.
  • Use may be suspended if guidelines are not followed.

8. Stewardship Alignment

  • All use must support ongoing care of the property.
  • Users are encouraged to contribute light stewardship where appropriate.
  • The condition of Keian should improve or remain stable over time.
  • Use and care are considered inseparable.

9. Agreement Basis

This agreement operates on trust and shared intention. It is designed to protect the place, maintain respectful relationships, and ensure Keian remains usable, cared for, and aligned with its original purpose.

Continued use of Keian implies acceptance of these terms.
