JAG Farms Lodge is designed to feel like a well-run farm home rather than a hotel.
Rooms are simple, warm, and practical — with spaces built for real people, real gear,
and real conversations.
Development Note: Exact room numbers, layouts, photos, and floor plans will be added
as the lodge develops. For now, the aim is clear: a tidy, hardworking farm house with good beds,
a long table, warm hospitality, and room for boots by the door.

Long shared dining table for communal meals
Tea and coffee station for guests between meals
Basic plates, cups, and cutlery

Indoor seating with chairs, couches, and side tables
Books, maps, and simple games where possible
Space for guitars, quiet music, or evening kōrero
Deck or outdoor seating facing the surrounding landscape
Gear, Boots & Drying Space
Because JAG Farms Lodge is a farm and coastal base, wet coats, muddy boots,
fishing rods, and outdoor gear are part of the reality.
Boot racks and mats at key entrances
Hooks for jackets and rain gear
Drying lines or racks for wet clothing where space allows
Basic cleaning gear for boots and equipment
Connectivity & Power
Matakana Island is close to Tauranga, but it remains an Island with its own infrastructure realities.
Electricity is available, though storm outages may occur
Internet and mobile coverage may be variable
Guests are encouraged to treat downtime as part of the retreat
Wi-Fi decisions will be confirmed closer to opening
Accessibility & Mobility
The lodge will aim to be as accessible as the Island and farm environment allow.
Honest guidance will always be given before bookings are confirmed.
Some paths may be uneven, grassy, or gravel-based
Steps or raised entries may be present in older buildings
Transfers from barge to lodge may involve short walks on farm surfaces
Please advise mobility needs during the inquiry stage
As JAG Farms Lodge develops, photos and floor plans will be added here so guests can see exactly
what to expect.
Kua hoahoatia a JAG Farms Lodge kia rite ki tētahi kāinga pāmu pai te whakahaere,
kaua ki tētahi hōtēra. He māmā, he mahana, he whaihua ngā rūma —
mō ngā tāngata tūturu, ngā taputapu tūturu, me ngā kōrero tūturu.
Kōrero Whanaketanga: Ka tāpirihia ngā nama rūma, ngā mahere, ngā whakaahua,
me ngā floor plan i te wā e whanake ana te Lodge. I tēnei wā, ko te whāinga:
he whare pāmu mā, kaha te mahi, he moenga pai, he tēpu roa, he manaaki mahana,
me tētahi wāhi mō ngā pūtu ki te kuaha.
Tirohanga Whānui
Ka whakamaheretia te Lodge hei wāhi noho iti, noho tahi mō ngā rōpū iti,
ngā whānau, ngā manuhiri, me ngā delegations.
