Cleanup Plan
A practical staged plan for restoring order, hygiene, usability, and long-term care across the Keian house, garden, and wider property edges.
🧹 Current Status
The first-pass cleanup has already been completed. All major trash and loose waste from both the interior and exterior of the house have been removed. This has created a clear baseline and allows the next stage of work to focus on deeper cleaning, fumigation, repair assessment, and overall site tidying.
The next phase is not just about making the place look better. It is about improving hygiene, preserving the structure, clearing functional access, and preparing Keian for healthier long-term use and stewardship.
Phase 1 Completed
- Interior trash removed
- Exterior trash removed
- Loose waste cleared from around house
- Basic first-pass reset completed
Phase 2 Priority
- House cleaning and vacuuming
- Fumigation under house and inside rooms
- Bathroom floor assessment
- Garden and drainage clearing
Overall Objective
- Improve hygiene and usability
- Reduce pest risk
- Restore order to outdoor areas
- Create a sound base for future stewardship
House — Next Stage Works
The next priority inside the house is to move from rough clearing into a more controlled and sanitary stage. This means removing residual dust and debris, improving air quality, addressing pest risk, and identifying any flooring or moisture-related structural concerns.
Interior Cleaning
- Clean and vacuum interior rooms
- Remove remaining dust and fine debris
- Air out the full house thoroughly
- Begin deeper wipe-down and detail cleaning
Fumigation
- Under-house shiro ari spray treatment
- Interior mist bombs for room treatment
- Post-fumigation ventilation
- Confirm safe re-entry after airing out
Deep Clean Stage
- Follow fumigation with deep clean
- Reassess room usability after treatment
- Check corners, edges, fittings, and surfaces
- Establish cleaner baseline for future stays
Bathroom Floor Assessment
- Inspect bathroom floor condition carefully
- Assess whether repair is possible
- Consider dismantle and rebuild option
- Consider full removal and concrete slab floor if needed
Garden — Cleanup and Salvage
The garden stage focuses on restoring order rather than forcing a finished landscape too early. Priority should be given to clearing overgrowth, sorting useful material, and removing visual and physical clutter.
Timber Sorting
- Sort dismantled frame timber
- Separate salvageable pieces from waste
- Stack usable timber neatly
- Remove non-usable material from active areas
Garden Clearing
- Kusakari across garden areas
- Clear light overgrowth around paths and edges
- Reopen sightlines and movement zones
- Check for hidden gomi during clearing
Overall Property — Drainage, Weeds, and Gomi Check
The wider property should be treated as part of the cleanup zone, not just the house itself. Drainage lines, roadside edges, and side passages affect both appearance and function, and should be cleared as part of the same practical campaign.
Rear and Side Ujiko Drains
- Remove weeds and gomi from rear ujiko drains
- Clear running drain line down side of property
- Continue clearing through to roadside ujiko
- Restore visible, open drainage path
Full Property Reset
- Full property kusakari
- General gomi inspection across site
- Clear overlooked rubbish from edges and corners
- Leave grounds visibly lighter and more manageable
Working Principle
The cleanup plan should proceed in layers: first clear, then sanitize, then assess, then improve. This avoids wasted effort and allows each stage to reveal what the next stage truly requires.
Keian does not need instant perfection. It needs steady, intelligent work that restores dignity, function, and a healthy foundation for the future.
